Overview

Graduate Chemistry Teacher - Independent School

Location: Essex (easily accessible through the Elizabeth Line)

Start Date: January 2026

Contract: Fixed Term until September 2027 (with view to permanent)

Salary: Competitive, based on the school's generous independent pay scale

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will teach Chemistry at the school from January 2026. They will begin as an unqualified teacher for two terms, before undertaking a fully funded PGCE from September 2026. The role includes a structured training programme with full mentoring and a reduced timetable, leading to QTS. The initial contract is until July 2027, with the expectation of a permanent role from September 2027. The teacher is expected to contribute to the wider life of the school and participate in co-curricular activities and school trips where appropriate.
