Job description

The Goods In Operative is responsible for the timely and accurate receipt, inspection, and storage of goods delivered to the depot, ensuring all products meet quality and specification standards. The role supports efficient warehouse operations and stock control while adhering to company procedures and relevant legislation.,

  • Unload deliveries and manage goods inwards efficiently.
  • Check delivered goods against paperwork to ensure correct items, quantities, and quality, free from damage.
  • Liaise with the Technical department regarding quality issues to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Accurately record all deliveries in Procure Wizard and complete relevant goods in paperwork.
  • Report shortages, damages, and late deliveries promptly to relevant departments.
  • Segregate goods according to departmental requirements to support smooth workflow.
  • Ensure all items are clearly batch coded, stored according to company procedure, and rotated using FIFO principles.
  • Undertake stocktaking activities as directed and maintain accurate stock control records.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe working environment.
  • Adhere to all relevant legislation and standards, including Health & Safety, Hygiene, BRC, SALSA, and report any violations immediately.
  • Complete all Forklift documentation, including daily checks, and ensure safe use and care of company equipment.
  • Work flexible shift patterns as required to meet business needs.
  • Perform additional duties as requested by the Line Manager.
  • Work as part of a team and may be allocated to different areas of the line during shifts, performing repetitive tasks where necessary.
