Oxford Nanopore Technologies (ONT) is looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Commercial Operations Specialist to join our Global Commercial Operations team on a 10-month maternity cover contract.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone early in their Sales Operations, Service Operations, or Business Operations career to gain hands‑on experience supporting global commercial processes, systems, and transformation initiatives.

The Role

As a key member of the Commercial Operations team, you’ll support the operational rollout and ongoing management of Sales & Services processes, helping turn process improvements into real‑world execution.

You’ll contribute to high‑impact initiatives across areas such as Sales & Quoting, Stratified Support models, and Contact Centre as a Service (CCaaS), working closely with stakeholders across the business.

You will
  • Maintain and update process documentation across Salesforce and related systems
  • Coordinate input from cross‑functional teams to capture as‑is and to‑be workflows
  • Support user stories, process maps, governance, and project documentation
  • Coordinate workshops, meetings, demos, and project reviews (including minutes and actions)
  • Support system testing and UAT for Salesforce enhancements
  • Log issues and track resolution with internal stakeholders and system owners
  • Help compile training and rollout materials
  • Support reporting on user adoption, engagement metrics, and KPIs
  • Gather feedback from frontline teams to inform implementation decisions
About You

You’re organised, curious, and enjoy working across teams to make processes work better.

Essential
  • 1–3 years’ experience in Sales Operations, Service Operations, or CRM administration
  • Familiarity with Salesforce (reporting, accounts, opportunities, cases, activities)
  • Understanding of user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
Nice to have
  • Exposure to quoting tools, service platforms, or pricing processes
  • Experience with JIRA or ticket management tools
  • Familiarity with customer lifecycle or funnel reporting
  • Experience supporting global or matrixed teams
  • Interest in AI‑enabled tools (e.g. Salesforce Einstein, chatbots, knowledge systems)
