Overview

A long-established distributor of specialist consumer goods is looking to recruit a Transport & Distribution Manager to lead the transport operations. The role reports to the Operations Director North and operates within a unionised environment.

As Transport and Distribution Manager you will directly oversee the transport function of the business, managing a team including 35 drivers and 85 warehouse operatives across warehouse operations.

Responsibilities

• Directly oversee transport operations and lead a team consisting of drivers and warehouse staff.
• Ensure compliance with O Licence and VOSA requirements, and implement new systems and procedures as necessary.
• Regularly liaise with customers on service delivery matters, ensuring expectations are understood and met.

Qualifications and Experience

• Substantial experience in a transport manager role; knowledge or experience in warehouse management is advantageous.
• Strong communication skills; experience in a family business or SME environment is beneficial.
