The Job

We are seeking a dynamic, hands‑on General Manager to lead the Soft Fruit Division, covering strawberries, blackberries and raspberries. This operational role involves managing day‑to‑day production, optimising yield and quality, leading a multidisciplinary team and collaborating across supply chain, commercial and technical functions. The position is ideal for a motivated professional who thrives in a fast‑paced environment and is willing to “roll up their sleeves” to deliver results. Clear progression into senior leadership is possible within 1–2 years.

The Company

The Candidate
  • Proven managerial experience in soft fruit, horticulture, fresh produce, or a related agricultural sector
  • Strong operational expertise with experience overseeing complex growing and production systems
  • Hands‑on leadership style, capable of working alongside teams during busy periods
  • Excellent knowledge of quality standards, technical compliance and retailer requirements
  • Strong commercial awareness, including budget management and KPI tracking
  • Effective communicator, able to lead diverse teams and influence stakeholders
  • Desirable: experience with glasshouse or controlled‑environment agriculture, working with large retailers or relevant qualifications in horticulture, agriculture, food science or business management
