General Maintenance Operative

Moorgate London EC2Y

Permanent Full time Monday to Friday – No On Call

£32,000 - £34,000 (DOE) No on Call, Plus benefits

Summary

NG Bailey is hiring a General Maintenance Technician to join our team, overseeing the maintenance of a new commercial building on a long-term prestigious client contract based in Moorgate, Ropemaker Street, EC2Y.

Monday to Friday days only 0700-1600 or 0800-1700 (NO ON CALL) – this will be discussed at interview stage.

Key Deliverables

• Provide general small repairs (including but not limited to refixing door handles, loose hinges and other items).
• Toe‑to‑elevator seat refixing and replacement if necessary.
• Weekly and monthly planned maintenance tasks – fire alarm tests, water temperature recording, emergency lighting tests, etc.
• Minor plumbing repairs including tap replacements.

What we're looking for

An experienced General Maintenance Operative with a work ethic focused on quality ideally from within a commercial maintenance environment and excellent communication skills at all levels. The successful candidate will have a track record of delivering a range of skills and tasks including but not limited to:

• Demonstrated ability to undertake scheduled PPM work independently without direct supervision.
• Carrying out planned preventive maintenance (PPM), including emergency lighting checks, plant‑room inspections and low‑level maintenance activities within their area of competence.
