Job summary

A leading education recruitment agency is looking for a part-time Maths & English Tutor in Reading. The successful candidate will provide tailored one-to-one or small group tuition, adapt methods for SEN students, and create engaging lesson plans. Candidates should have teaching experience and be able to pass an Enhanced DBS check. This role offers flexible hours with a pay rate of £25-£30 per hour based on experience.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience in Maths and English.
• Experience working with SEN students.

• Must have, or be willing to undertake, an Enhanced DBS check.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver one-to-one or small group tuition in Maths and English.
• Adapt teaching methods to support students with SEN needs, ensuring lessons are accessible and engaging.
• Develop and implement personalised lesson plans that address individual learning gaps.
• Monitor student progress and provide regular, constructive feedback to students and their families.
• Create a supportive and motivating learning environment to help students build confidence in Maths and English.

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience in Maths and English.
• Experience working with SEN students.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Must have, or be willing to undertake, an Enhanced DBS check.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• PGCE and/or QTS is highly desirable.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to adapt teaching strategies to individual learner needs.
