Job description

Prospero Teaching are seeking reliable and qualified GCSE/Functional Skills Tutors, particularly in Maths, English, and Science, to support young people requiring alternate provision in the BCP area. Our tuitions run from 2 to 15 hours a week, making it ideal for part‑time and full‑time tutors.

We work with a variety of ages and abilities, so we require tutors to have strong curriculum knowledge in their subject area and the ability to adapt learning to each individual’s needs. Tuition can be very flexible and adapts to the tutor’s strengths.

Teaching Locations

Tuition typically takes place in the home of the young person and can also run in public settings such as libraries and cafés. We will always consider the tutor’s home location to ensure sessions are accessible to all.

Requirements

To be eligible, applicants must either hold QTS or have at least 6 months of experience teaching or tutoring young people. All staff must hold an enhanced child and adult DBS on the updated service – we can help obtain one if not already held. A child‑only DBS is acceptable, but it limits work to students under 18.

We offer a referral bonus for qualified candidates referred by those who successfully join our team.
