GCSE English Lecturer (FE) - Temporary Widnes January 2026

Are you an experienced FE English Lecturer or GCSE English specialist looking for a temporary role within a Further Education college from January 2026?

Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with Widnes College to recruit a GCSE English Lecturer to support post-16 learners, including GCSE resit students.

Role Overview

Widnes College is seeking a specialist with strong experience delivering and assessing GCSE English Language within an FE setting. The role includes teaching, assessment, marking, and associated administrative responsibilities. Experience marking AQA GCSE English Language is essential.

Key Details
  • Start date: 5th January 2026, continuing until 27th March 2026 (initially)
  • Teaching GCSE English resit learners in an FE environment
  • Fully planned lessons and schemes of work provided
  • Part-time role: 4 days per week (Monday-Thursday)
  • Working hours: 8:15am - 4:30pm
  • Competitive daily rate, negotiable depending on FE experience
Essential Requirements
  • A recognised FE teaching qualification (PGCE, Cert Ed, QTS, or equivalent)
  • Recent experience teaching GCSE English in the FE sector
  • Experience assessing and marking AQA GCSE English Language
  • Enhanced DBS (Child Workforce) and two professional references
  • A CV covering the last 10 years of employment where possible
  • The legal right to work in the UK
