Job summary

Co-op Funeralcare in Canterbury is hiring a Funeral Arranger to support families and manage funeral arrangements with professionalism and care. This full-time role (37.5 hours) includes responsibilities from client liaison to coordinating details with the funeral home and our teams.

No prior funeral industry experience is required as full training is provided. The role offers a competitive salary of £26,266, a strong pension, and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication with clients and colleagues in writing and verbally.
• Comfort with numbers: cash handling, discounts, invoicing and simple data entry.
• Attention to detail and compliance with policies and processes.
• Good IT literacy across devices and applications.
• Passion for delivering great service and building relationships.
• High levels of empathy, discretion and care.
• Ability to carry out physical elements of the role with training provided.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain positive relationships with clients and the community.
• Support clients in person and over the phone, arranging family visits and answering questions.
• Keep the funeral home clean, safe, and welcoming, reporting maintenance issues.
• Work with digital systems to manage client documentation, funeral arrangements and invoicing.
• Refer regulated work, like funeral plans, to the Funeral Plan Arrangers.
• Assist with manual handling and preparation of the deceased.
• Update client management applications with accurate records.
