Job description

The Role

You’ll work closely with investment, structuring and capital markets teams across Europe and the US, advising on a wide range of activities. The work will include :

• Supporting the launch, structuring and governance of investment funds, including alternative strategies
• Advising on capital markets transactions, including structured deals and risk-transfer products
• Drafting, negotiating and overseeing documentation across investment, trading and capital markets activity
• Helping the business navigate UK, EU and US regulatory frameworks (MiFID, AIFMD, broker / dealer requirements, investment adviser rules)
• Managing multi-jurisdictional legal issues and coordinating with external counsel
• Providing input on governance, risk management and regulatory change affecting investment and capital markets operations
• Working with colleagues globally on projects, new initiatives and business expansion plans
• Delivering training and guidance to the business on legal and regulatory developments

This is a varied role with consistent exposure to senior stakeholders and complex cross-border matters.

About You

The ideal candidate will bring :

• At least 4 years’ PQE in Funds, asset management, capital markets, structured products or financial regulation
• Strong experience with cross-border transactions and multi-jurisdictional matters
• Familiarity with regulatory frameworks such as MiFID, AIFMD , or US investment adviser / securities rules
• Excellent drafting and negotiation skills, and the ability to manage complex transactional work
• Confidence operating in a large, matrixed organisation and partnering with teams across different regions
• A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and the ability to communicate clearly with non-lawyers

Insurance sector exposure is helpful but not essential they’re open to candidates from private practice or another in-house financial institution.
