Job summary

Maven Group Ltd is seeking an HCPC registered Physiotherapist to join our Functional Assessor team in Shrewsbury. The role involves conducting five client assessments per day via telephone, video or face-to-face consultations to determine how a health condition affects work capability and to document findings for the DWP.

We offer an excellent starting salary, 25 days leave plus holidays, pension, and the option for hybrid/home working.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered Physiotherapist with post-registration experience.
• Proactive and keen to learn.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Competent IT and computer skills.
• Comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions, including mental health.

Responsibilities

• Carry out five client assessments per day (telephone, video or face-to-face).
• Produce factual reports to support DWP eligibility decisions.
• Engage in training and CPD to maintain high standards.

What is on offer as a Functional Assessor?

• Excellent starting salary at £42,000pa
• Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm working hours
• Full time and part time available (3, 4 or 5 days per week available)

What does the Functional Assessor role involve?

The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day. A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their working capability. You’ll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.
