Job summary

Maven Group Ltd in Bridgend is seeking an HCPC registered Physiotherapist to join our Functional Assessor team. You will perform a mix of telephone, video and face-to-face assessments and craft precise reports to help the DWP determine claim eligibility.

Your role supports clients and contributes to accurate benefit decisions. The position offers a starting salary of £42,000 per year, with both full-time and part-time options (3–5 days), and hybrid/home-working possibilities.

Qualifications

• A Physiotherapist with 1 year’s or more broad post-registration experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Competent IT and computer skills.
• Proactive and keen to learn.
• Comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions, including mental health.

Responsibilities

• Carry out 5 client assessments per day (telephone, video or face-to-face).
• Gather information and produce factual reports to support DWP decisions.
• Communicate findings clearly in written reports for eligibility evaluation.
• Engage professionally with clients and adapt to individual needs.

• Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm working hours
• Full time and part time available (3, 4 or 5 days per week available)
• Bridgend based when working on-site

What does the Functional Assessor role involve?

The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day. A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their working capability. You’ll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.
