Job summary

Maven Group Ltd is recruiting a WCA Functional Assessor in the United Kingdom. The role involves conducting 5 client assessments per day for Work Capability Assessment, using telephone, video or face-to-face formats, and producing factual reports to support DWP decisions.

The position offers excellent starting salary (£39,500pa), with full-time or part-time options, hybrid/home working, and Liverpool-based on-site work when required. Comprehensive training and CPD support are provided.

Qualifications

• An NMC registered nurse (RGN or RMN) or HCPC qualified Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with 1 year’s or more broad post-registration experience
• Someone who’s proactive and keen to learn
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Competent IT and computer skills
• Comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions, including mental health

Responsibilities

• Carry out 5 client assessments per day for Work Capability Assessment (WCA)
• Conduct telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand impact on work-related activity
• Produce a factual report to help the DWP determine eligibility for benefits
• Gather information and produce the report for final decision by the DWP

What does the WCA Functional Assessor role involve?

The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day who are claiming for WCA (Work Capability Assessment). A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their ability to perform work-related activity. You’ll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.
