Job summary

Maven Group Ltd invites HCPC registered Physiotherapist professionals to join as Functional Assessors in Mansfield. The role offers a starting salary of £42,000 per year, with hours from 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday.

Both full-time and part-time arrangements (3–5 days) are available, with hybrid or home working options. You will conduct up to five client assessments daily via telephone, video, or in person, compiling clear reports to support DWP decisions.

Qualifications

• HCPC registered physiotherapist with post-registration experience.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proactive learner with IT proficiency.
• Comfortable working with a diverse range of conditions including mental health.

Responsibilities

• Carry out 5 client assessments per day (telephone, video or face-to-face).
• Produce factual reports to help DWP determine eligibility for benefits.
• Engage with clients to understand impact on working capability and document findings.

What does the Functional Assessor role involve?

The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day. A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their working capability. You’ll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.

• A Physiotherapist with 1 year’s or more broad post-registration experience
