Job summary

Maven Group Ltd in Hereford is recruiting a WCA Functional Assessor. You will conduct 5 client assessments per day including telephone, video or in-person sessions, assessing how health conditions affect work-related activity.

You will compile reports to help the DWP determine eligibility, with final decisions made by DWP. NMC or HCPC qualified professionals with 1 year post-registration experience are invited to apply. Hybrid or home working and full- or part-time options are available.

Qualifications

• NMC registered nurse (RGN or RMN) or HCPC qualified Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist with 1 year post-registration experience.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Competent IT and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Carry out 5 client assessments per day for Work Capability Assessments (WCA).
• Conduct telephone, video or face-to-face assessments.
• Produce clear factual reports to help the DWP determine eligibility for benefits.
• Gather information and support the final decision made by the DWP.

• Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm working hours
• Full time and part time available (3, 4 or 5 days per week available)

What does the WCA Functional Assessor role involve?

The Functional Assessor role will involve you carrying out 5 client assessments per day who are claiming for WCA (Work Capability Assessment). A typical day will see you carry out telephone, video or face-to-face assessments to understand how a person's disability or health condition affects their ability to perform work-related activity. You’ll listen to their experiences, ask questions and use your insights to produce a factual report to help the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) determine their eligibility for benefits. That's the good news; the DWP make the final decision, you don't. Your role is to gather information and produce the report.
