Job description

We are looking for a hardworking,highly motivated, and enthusiastic individual to join our busy, friendly,reception and admin teams who can provide a high standard of administrativesupport, create great experiences for our patients and deliver effectiveresults in all areas. Ideally, we are looking for someone with previous GPreceptionist/administrator experience, with experience of using SystmOnehowever, this is not essential. Full training will be provided.

Pace and dedication are a key attributeneeded by the post holder whilst a flexible approach to working is essential.The opening hours currently range between 08:00am and 06:30pm. Candidates mustbe flexible to cover annual leave and absence where necessary with the additionof early opening and weekend clinics where needed. We are flexible in regardsto working days as compressed or 5 day working weeks will be considered.

Main duties of the job

Answer incoming phone calls,transferring calls or dealing with the callers request appropriately

  • Maintaining and monitoring the practiceappointment system
  • Process personal, telephone ande-requests for appointments
  • Signpost patients to the correct service(Care Navigation)
  • To generate computerised repeatprescriptions for signature by GP and via the Electronic Prescription Service(EPS), paying particular attention to accuracy
  • Initiating contact with and respondingto, requests from patients, team members and external agencies through avariety of access points
  • Read code data appropriately usingSystmOne
  • Data entry of new and temporaryregistrations and relevant patient information as required
  • Input data into the patients healthcarerecords as necessary
  • Administrative control of requests forinformation i.e. SAR, insurance / solicitors letters and DVLA forms
  • Manage all queries as necessary in anefficient manner
  • Carry out system searches as requested
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, effectiveworking area at all times
  • Monitor and maintain the reception areaand notice boards
  • Support all clinical staff with generaltasks as requested
  • To undertake any other duties as may bedetermined from time to time which are commensurate with the range ofactivities described above.
