Job summary

A reputable civil engineering contractor is seeking a Freelance Health & Safety Officer to oversee health and safety compliance on a HVDC Converter Station project in Murton. This site-based role requires strong experience in civil engineering health and safety protocols, risk assessments, and direct client communication. Ideal candidates will have NEBOSH certification, a CSCS card, and proven experience in managing site safety standards. Responsibilities include managing RAMS, conducting regular site inspections, and liaising with clients to ensure safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Health & Safety Officer on civil engineering projects.
• Strong working knowledge of RAMS and safe systems of work.
• Confident supervising site activities and challenging unsafe behaviours.

Responsibilities

• Preparation, review and ongoing management of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
• Site supervision to ensure works are carried out in line with approved RAMS and statutory requirements.
• Regular site inspections, audits and toolbox talks.
