Job summary

A leading food safety consultancy is seeking a Freelance Food Safety & Brand Standard Auditor in the Coventry area. The role involves conducting evaluations, consulting and training clients on food safety practices for the hospitality industry. Candidates should hold an L4 food safety qualification and have auditing experience. This position requires flexibility in schedule and the ability to work independently. Competitive compensation based on experience and qualifications will be considered.

Qualifications

Job description

Responsibilities

• Conduct food safety, brand standards and workplace health and safety evaluations at client locations.
• Consult, coach and train clients on the latest food safety, health, and hygiene practices.
• Work with account management teams to resolve client challenges.
• Perform a budgeted number of audits weekly that ensures high customer satisfaction.
• Access and leverage industry‑leading food safety practices and ongoing, active monitoring of health inspection information.
• Provide accurate reporting and ensure effective customer communication and relationships.

Requirements

• Have an L4 food safety qualification.
• Be based in or close to the territory.

Skills and Knowledge

• Food safety certifications preferred, such as HACCP, ISO22000, BRC or NEHA (RS, REHS or CP-FS) credentials.
• Retail food safety experience and reviews of brand standards.
• Teaching or coaching experience in a food‑related field.
• Strong relationship‑management and advanced consulting skills.
• Strong planning and organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
• Able to work effectively without supervision, demonstrate initiative, common sense and superior decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure, juggle tasks and work efficiently against deadlines.
