Rochdale Borough Council is seeking a passionate Social Worker to join our Fostering Service as part of the dynamic Family and Friends Team.   • We have successfully launched the Mockingbird and No Wrong Door programs.
  • We are currently underway with plans to train all fostering staff and foster carers in the Secure Base model.
  • All social workers in the fostering service will be trained in Dyadic Developmental Practice and Psychotherapy (DDP) level 1.
Key Responsibilities

We require an experienced candidate with a proven background in safeguarding children and working effectively with families.

  • Family & Connected Care Expertise : Direct experience of completing assessments with families, supporting and supervising connected foster carers is essential.
  • Assessment Skills : Possess excellent assessment skills, ensuring comprehensive evaluations that consistently keep the child’s needs central.
  • Safeguarding & Legislation : Demonstrate a passion for safeguarding children and a strong understanding of fostering legislation and regulations.
  • Inter-Agency Working : Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes for children and young people.
  • Child-Centred Practice : Proven background in safeguarding children and working directly with families to promote stability and well-being.
