Food Technology Teacher (SEN Experience) - Northamptonshire

Location: Northamptonshire (exact location TBC)

Start Date: Autumn Term / Immediate

Salary: £150 - £2130 per day

Contract Type: Full-time, long-term

Are you a creative, enthusiastic Food Technology Teacher with experience or interest in working with students with Special Educational Needs?

Tradewind Recruitment are currently supporting a specialist secondary school in Northamptonshire, who are looking to appoint a dedicated and experienced Food Tech teacher. This is a full-time role teaching Key Stage 3 and 4 students in small groups. The curriculum is practically focused, with an emphasis on life skills and independence.

This is an excellent opportunity to combine your subject knowledge with your passion for supporting diverse learners in a meaningful and hands-on subject.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging, practical Food Tech lessons tailored to individual needs
  • Differentiate lessons in line with EHCPs
  • Work with a team of TAs to support pupils in accessing the curriculum
  • Encourage students to develop confidence and independence through food prep and cooking
  • Support with vocational learning and functional skills, where required
The Ideal Candidate
  • Holds QTS and has experience teaching Food Tech
  • Has previous experience teaching in an SEN or alternative provision setting
  • Understands the importance of routine, consistency and a sensory-friendly environment
  • Is creative, patient and positive
