Food Technology Teacher Vacancy - Rhyl, Wales School (January Start)

Pay: £173 - £190 per day (Depending on experience/scale)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and qualified Food Technology Teacher to join our school in Rhyl, starting in January. Inspire students with creative, practical learning that builds essential life skills and promotes healthy eating.

Duties:
  • Plan and Teach engaging Food Technology lessons to students across Key Stages (likely age 11-16).
  • Deliver Practical Sessions (cooking) safely, ensuring all hygiene rules are strictly followed.
  • Manage the Classroom and resources to create a positive and orderly learning environment.
  • Assess Student Work (practical and written) and track their progress to help them achieve their best.
  • Set Clear Expectations for behaviour and work, maintaining high standards in the Food Technology room.
  • Maintain Equipment and ensure the kitchen area is clean, safe, and fully stocked for lessons.
  • Contribute to the School by attending staff meetings and sharing in the wider life of the school (e.g., extra-curricular clubs or tutor duties).
Requirements:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - You must have a formal teaching qualification recognised in the UK.
  • Strong Subject Knowledge in Food Technology, including cooking, nutrition, and food science.
  • Experience teaching Food Technology to secondary school students (Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4/GCSE).
  • Excellent Classroom Management skills to ensure a safe and productive learning space.
  • Current Enhanced DBS Check (or be willing to apply for one).
