Overview

A therapeutic social, emotional, mental health school based in Stratford is seeking a dedicated Food Technology Teacher to deliver engaging, practical, and academic Food Tech lessons. You will inspire KS2 and KS3 and guide KS4 learnings up to GCSE level, creating engaging lessons to help pupils gain essential life skills, including food preparation, food hygiene, and healthy eating guidance. This class is the students’ favourite lesson, keeping them engaged, calm, and eager to learn, giving you space to teach meaningful lessons that impact their time at school.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver engaging, practical, and theory-based Food Technology lessons to students with diverse needs.
  • Support and motivate learners who may have faced challenges in mainstream education.
  • Prepare students for GCSE assessments, tailoring lessons to individual abilities.
  • Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages creativity and confidence.
  • Work closely with staff, families, and external agencies to support student progress and wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with the school team to monitor pupil progress and wellbeing.
Requirements
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience teaching Food Technology up to GCSE level.
  • Passionate about delivering practical, hands-on learning experiences.
  • Skilled at adapting teaching approaches to meet the needs of vulnerable or disengaged learners.
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills.
  • Committed to helping every student achieve their potential.
  • Food hygiene & first aid certificate.
  • Experience within an SEMH/PRU Setting or teaching secondary students.
  • Enhanced DBS (via Update Service) or the ability to process one via Parker Smith Inclusion.
