Job summary

A well-established food manufacturing business in Leicester is seeking a Technical Assistant. This role involves supporting the Technical Manager and maintaining food safety standards across multiple production facilities. Responsibilities include assisting with HACCP processes, conducting factory inspections, and supporting audits. The ideal candidate should have experience in food manufacturing, an understanding of food safety principles, and be eager to develop within a technical career path. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Qualifications

• Experience within a food manufacturing or food handling environment.
• Basic understanding of food safety, hygiene and HACCP principles.
• Comfortable working on the factory floor within production environments.

Responsibilities

• Support the maintenance of the Food Safety Management System.
• Assist with HACCP, allergen controls and quality procedures.
• Conduct routine factory inspections across high and low care environments.
• Support internal, customer and BRC audits.
