Job description

We are currently looking for an experienced Fleet Manager to join our team on a permanent basis, managing our diverse fleet of 750+ vehicles. Working from our modern Head Office in Basingstoke, you'll enjoy a blend of home and office work to ensure a positive work/life balance.

The role

As a Fleet Manager, you'll manage a team of approximately 4 direct reports, bringing improvement and development opportunities that will enhance daily operations and maintain operational and contractual relationships with fleet suppliers.

You’ll use your proven experience to oversee the implementation of fleet policies, reporting, and management controls and be responsible for maintaining high‑quality data in our vehicle, management and financial data sources.

What we are looking for
  • Knowledge of UK transport legislation and regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrable experience in leadership and team motivation.
  • Ability to inspire and guide a team, providing clear direction and building a positive team dynamic.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, clearly conveying goals, concerns and complex issues to stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, with the ability to effectively utilise tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook to support day‑to‑day operations and reporting requirements.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and deliver results in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong reporting and analytical skills, with the ability to clearly identify areas for improvement and propose effective, data‑driven solutions.
  • A full, clean UK driving licence.
