Job description

Excellence is not just an expectation, it's our standard. With a driven team of nearly 600 professionals, we are at the forefront of providing stellar asset and energy services across the UK. Our mission is simple yet powerful: to elevate the quality of life in the communities we serve by innovating and improving the spaces where people reside, work, and gather.

We are looking for a Fleet & Plant Compliance Manager to spearhead our compliance strategy. This role can be located anywhere across the UK. In this pivotal role you will lead the management of fleet and plant compliance, ensuring we adhere to the highest regulatory standards while driving efficiencies that support our long‑term business goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement robust policies for SES and Group Fleet and Plant (including grey fleet), ensuring full alignment with HSE and DVSA standards.

  • Lead the development of fleet operations, identifying opportunities for cost optimization and sustainability initiatives, such as our transition to Electric Vehicles (EV).

  • Oversee safety protocols and conduct rigorous audits to promote a "safety‑first" culture through workshops and awareness campaigns.

  • Utilize telematics and fleet management systems to analyze performance, driver behavior, and maintenance trends to inform high‑level decision‑making.

  • Design and deliver comprehensive training programs to ensure our teams are informed, compliant, and safe.

  • Reduce RTA risks by monitoring driver behaviors such as speeding, harsh braking, and idling.

  • Manage vehicle hire strategies, repair cost analysis, and minimizing unfair wear and tear costs.

  • Oversee inspection schedules for lifting tackle, pressure vessels, and access equipment.

  • Manage Hand‑Arm Vibration Syndrome (HAVS) assessments and PAT testing schedules.

  • Ensure 100% adherence to scheduled maintenance and calibration plans

Required Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience as a Fleet Manager, Compliance Manager, or a similar senior operational role.
  • A professional qualification in fleet operations or membership in a recognized transport institute.
  • In‑depth knowledge of current UK transport legislation and health & safety regulations.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proficiency in fleet management software and data analysis.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean record.
  • Experience in change management and strategic planning is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with sustainability initiatives and telematics platforms.
What We Offer
  • Competitive package and car allowance
  • 29 days annual leave (includes statutory bank holidays and Christmas/New Year closure).
  • Employer‑contributed pension scheme
  • Enhanced Maternity/Paternity leave, Flexible Benefits (Bike to Work, Health Shield care plan), and Employee Assistance Program.

Please note that the closing date for this role is 30th January 2026

Our Commitment We are committed to developing talent at all levels, ensuring equality, diversity, and inclusion in the communities in which we work. We aim to provide every employee the support to fulfill their professional and personal potential.

Note: Successful applicants must provide evidence of eligibility to work in the UK. A DBS check will be conducted prior to employment.
