Overview

Codi Group is a not-for-profit organisation with a big heart and an even bigger mission. As Wales’ largest provider of housing, care, and support, we’re here to help people live well, feel supported, and rise to their full potential.

We look after almost 25,000 homes across Wales and are gearing up to build more than 4,500 new ones in the next five years. Every day, our teams support nearly 17,000 individuals with services that make a real and uplifting difference to people’s everyday lives.

With over 3,000 passionate colleagues, Codi is a major player in the Welsh economy—powered by strong partnerships, shared values, and a genuine love for helping communities thrive.

Our name says it all: ‘Codi’ means rise in Welsh. It reflects who we are, where we come from, and our ambition to lift expectations, lift communities, and lift each other.

About The Role

We’re recruiting four full‑time, permanent Fire Safety Maintenance Inspectors to join our Property Safety Team. Three roles will cover areas along the South Wales M4 corridor and West Wales, while the fourth will be based mostly in Bangor, North Wales. The role primarily involves site visits, but there will also be expectations to work in our offices occasionally, and also some home working.

You’ll travel to mostly residential premises to carry out essential fire safety inspections and minor maintenance, with a company van and all necessary equipment provided. A full UK driving licence is essential due to the need to travel independently between multiple sites.

If you’re passionate about creating safer homes and want a role where every day brings variety, this is a great opportunity to make a real impact.

Skills And Experience Needed

We’re looking for someone who holds a recognised fire door inspection certification, such as FDIS or an equivalent qualification, and has hands‑on experience working with fire doors. You should also have experience carrying out non‑technical fire detection and warning system testing, emergency lighting system testing, along with a solid understanding of key health and safety procedures, including working at height, lone working, and other relevant safety practices. The ability to carry out basic building maintenance and repairs is important for this role, as is a commitment to undertaking relevant training and ongoing personal development.

Values

At Codi, our values are Compassionate, Authentic, and Progressive. When you join us, you’ll embrace these principles and thrive in an environment shaped by them.
