Overview

We are looking for an experienced and fully qualified Freelance Fire Risk Assessor to carry out risk assessments across a range of commercial and residential properties throughout Scotland. The role involves site inspections, reporting, and providing actionable fire safety recommendations in line with current legislation and best practices.

Location

Scotland (Travel across multiple sites)

Contract

Freelance • Duration: Ongoing / Project-Based

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct fire risk assessments on various types of buildings
  • Identify hazards, evaluate risks, and suggest mitigation measures
  • Produce clear, detailed, and compliant reports
  • Advise clients on fire safety improvements and legal obligations
  • Ensure assessments align with Scottish fire safety regulations and Fire (Scotland) Act 2005
Requirements
  • Recognised Fire Risk Assessor qualifications (e.g. NEBOSH Fire, IFE, IFSM, or FRACS)
  • Proven experience across both commercial and residential sectors
  • Up-to-date knowledge of Scottish fire safety legislation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel across Scotland with own transport
  • Professional indemnity insurance (desirable)
