Job description

Barclays is seeking an experienced Financial Crime CDD Risk Analyst to support the UK Corporate Bank Risk Assessment Unit (RAU - CASS++).

The role focuses on conducting mini KYC risk assessments for UK Corporate Banking clients, supporting the transfer of banking relationships from Barclays UK (BUK) to Corporate UK (CBUK). The analyst will assess whether CBUK can rely on existing due diligence without conducting full customer due diligence on Day 1, subject to sanctions and adverse media screening completed by KYC.

This role plays a key part in ensuring financial crime risks are appropriately identified, assessed, and documented in line with policy and regulatory expectations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct mini KYC risk assessments using KYC files provided by BUK.
  • Assess and confirm whether the client is Low or Standard risk in line with policy.
  • Validate whether the client's KYC is current and valid.
  • Review and document the client's Nature of Business (NOB), identifying any relevant financial crime red flags.
  • Assess jurisdictions in which the client operates and identify any associated risks.
  • Review identification of Owners and Controllers, ensuring alignment with policy requirements.
  • Verify that appropriate due diligence has been completed on Owners and Controllers.
  • Match Owners and Controllers against internal records (Fullserve).
  • Cross‑reference Owners and Controllers against external source information, such as Companies House.
  • Identify, assess, and clearly document any financial crime red flags.
  • Provide a clear recommendation on whether CBUK is comfortable to open an account mirroring BUK arrangements without undertaking full CDD on Day 1.
  • Ensure all assessments are fully documented, accurate, and audit‑ready.
  • Complete all work in line with agreed SLAs, governance standards, and internal policies.
Essential
  • Strong experience in Financial Crime CDD, KYC, or AML within banking or financial services.
  • Demonstrable experience conducting KYC reviews, risk assessments, or client onboarding/off‑boarding assessments.
  • Solid understanding of ownership and control structures and associated due diligence requirements.
  • Experience assessing Nature of Business, jurisdictional risk, and client risk ratings.
  • Ability to identify, articulate, and document financial crime red flags clearly.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to produce clear, concise, and well‑documented assessments.
  • Ability to manage workload effectively within a part‑time, SLA‑driven environment.
Desirable
  • Experience within UK Corporate Banking or large corporate client environments.
  • Familiarity with Barclays policies, governance frameworks, or similar tier‑one bank standards.
  • Experience working within RAU, CASS++, remediation, or reliance‑based CDD models.
  • Knowledge of internal banking systems such as Fullserve.
