Credit Analyst – Help Shape the Future of Legal Finance

Location: Soho, London (Hybrid: 4 days in-office, 1 day WFH)

Type: Full-time, Permanent

Reporting to: Operations Manager & Head of Finance

Salary: Competitive + Discretionary Bonus

About Us

We’re a specialist litigation funder providing smart, data-driven capital to law firms and claims management companies across the UK. Our small but ambitious team is focused on doing things differently — combining financial insight, operational precision, and technology to drive responsible growth in the legal finance space.

At Fenchurch, we value people who get things done, question how things can be improved, and deliver together as one team.

The Opportunity

Fenchurch is at a pivotal stage in its growth, building bespoke systems, automation tools, and data intelligence that will power our next phase of expansion.

We’re a small team doing big things — combining human judgment with technology, automation, and AI to scale efficiently and make smarter decisions. This is a rare opportunity to join an early-stage business on the rise, where your work directly shapes how we grow.

As our Credit Analyst, you’ll play a key role in assessing, monitoring, and interpreting credit risk across our borrower portfolio. You’ll work alongside our Borrower Relations, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure informed lending decisions and proactive portfolio management.

This role is hands‑on and fast‑moving — ideal for someone confident enough to take the lead when needed, resourceful enough to find solutions independently, and self‑aware enough to ask for help when it counts.

If you’re analytical, commercially minded, and excited by the idea of using data and technology to change how things are done, this is your chance to make a real impact in a growing business that’s defining its next chapter.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the financial and operational due diligence of new borrowers. (Usually, law firms and CMC borrowers.)
  • Work with the Borrower Relations team to prepare and present investment and credit memos for Investment Committee approval.
  • Develop borrower risk assessments, financial models, and internal scoring frameworks.
  • Identify and document key risks, mitigants, and early warning signs.
  • Monitor performance across all active borrower facilities using financial and operational indicators.
  • Analyse borrower data and trends to highlight risks, anomalies, or opportunities.
  • Lead on the development and maintenance of credit dashboards and performance reports (in Excel, Power BI, or QuickSight).
  • Collaborate with the Operations and Finance teams to ensure data integrity and reconciliation between systems and loan books.
  • Support regular portfolio reviews and risk reporting to management and investors.
  • Work closely with Borrower Relations, Finance, and Operations to ensure aligned oversight of borrower risk.
  • Collaborate with the Operations team to improve data consistency, reporting workflows, and system accuracy.
  • Contribute to ongoing improvements in credit processes, documentation, and portfolio management frameworks.
  • Provide analytical input for investor and audit reporting.
What We’re Looking For
  • 3–5 years’ experience in credit, financial analysis, or underwriting.
  • Background in private credit, structured lending, SME lending, or legal finance (preferred).
  • Strong Excel skills, including financial modelling and data analysis. (Must have)
  • Experience using Power BI, QuickSight, or similar tools to visualise data and insights. (Nice to have)
  • Excellent attention to detail with strong commercial and analytical judgment.
  • Exceptional communication skills — confident producing written analysis and engaging with stakeholders.
  • Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently in a small, fast‑moving team.
  • Inquisitive and forward‑thinking — you take initiative, seek smarter ways to work, and follow through on what you start.
What We Offer
  • Competitive salary + discretionary annual bonus based on personal and company performance.
  • £1,000 annual learning & development allowance.
  • Private healthcare and wellbeing benefits.
  • Gym contribution and home‑office equipment allowance.
  • Hybrid working: 4 days in‑office, 1 day WFH.
  • 25 days annual leave + bank holidays.
  • Annual team training/bonding trip abroad — in 2025, we went to Cyprus!
  • Opportunity to work with a collaborative, ambitious team in a growing UK litigation funding business.
  • Direct exposure to senior decision‑making, investment committees, and strategic projects.
  • Clear career progression into senior credit, risk, or portfolio management roles.
Our Values
  • We get s*** done by taking decisive action and ensuring that every task we commit to is completed efficiently and effectively.
  • We question everything because curiosity drives innovation; by being inquisitive, we learn, evolve, and uncover better ways to operate, challenge assumptions, and continuously improve.
  • We deliver together by working as one team, supporting each other, and holding ourselves accountable to shared goals.
  • We believe in innovation, not for the sake of change, but to make things better — whether that’s improving our processes, enhancing client experiences, or pioneering new solutions.
  • We are solution‑focused, meaning we don’t dwell on problems — we tackle them head‑on, adapt quickly, and always find a way to move forward.
