Job description

Job Description: Working within the current EMEA VAT Compliance team, the VAT Tax Analyst will:

  1. Prepare, analyse, and submit European VAT returns and related filings.
  2. Prepare, analyse, and work on FASS5 and collaborate with different stakeholders in internal projects.
  3. Prepare, analyse, and submit Intrastat returns as necessary.
  4. Assist with VAT registrations across various jurisdictions.
  5. Assist with VAT compliance queries from client businesses operating across Europe.
  6. Map VAT processes, identify areas for improvement, and develop solutions for VAT issues.
  7. Prepare and review month-end VAT account reconciliations.
  8. Provide internal and external audit support, including data analysis.
  9. Support colleagues throughout the business with VAT compliance, especially accounting groups.
  10. Participate in cross-functional projects.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • A recognised accounting or tax qualification (CIMA, ACCA, ACA, AAT, or similar) is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in advisory or compliance functions in EMEA jurisdictions or similar accounting roles.
  • Organised, analytical, and methodical with attention to detail.
  • Advanced MS Excel skills; knowledge of tools like Python or Alteryx is a plus.
  • Ability to take ownership, implement change, and approach problems proactively.
  • Capable of working under tight deadlines and pressure.
  • Team player comfortable in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
