Job summary

A leading confectionery company is seeking a Financial Accountant Statutory Reporting to join their UK finance team. This role involves preparing financial statements and managing external audits to ensure compliance with UK GAAP. The ideal candidate will be ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified with at least 4 years of relevant experience. This position is based in Slough with onsite work required 2 days a week.

Overview

Job Title: Financial Accountant Statutory Reporting

Location: Slough, UK (2 Days per week onsite)

Contract: 6 Months

Randstad Sourceright are recruiting on behalf of Mars for a Financial Accountant Statutory Reporting to join the UK Confectionery Finance team. This role offers the opportunity to lead on statutory reporting and external audit for Mars UK and Ireland entities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare financial statements for UK legal entities reporting under UK GAAP, consolidating multicurrency accounts for UK and overseas subsidiaries.
  • Work closely with the UK Financial Reporting Manager to deliver timely, accurate, and compliant statutory reporting.
  • Coordinate financial data across corporate reporting, PwC, Mars service centres, Financial Controllers, and business units to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage the external audit process, ensuring directors fiduciary duties and statutory requirements are fully met.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance, training, and expertise in financial accounting and internal controls to operating units.
  • Safeguard the corporation's reputation through high-quality external financial reporting.
Candidate Profile
  • Education & Professional Qualifications: ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified, with at least 4 years relevant experience in accounting practice or a commercial environment.
  • Knowledge & Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
    • Proven ability to manage large workloads, prioritise effectively, and meet deadlines.
    • Solid technical knowledge of UK GAAP and group consolidation.
    • Experience with accounting systems (ideally TR OneSource Reporting).
