Overview

Looking for a qualified and experienced Financial Reporting Accountant to provide consolidation and financial reporting support to a central group reporting team for an industry leading production studios. This role plays a key part in ensuring the integrity of financial information, supporting financial planning, and contributing to continuous improvement in processes and controls.

Based from the Cardiff offices, this role offers flexible hybrid working

ASAP start, short term 2 month contract

Day rate of £250-300 a day umbrella, depending on relevant experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and accurate financial data, analysis, and commentary to internal stakeholders.
  • Support the production of budgets and forecasts, extrapolate trends, and input financial data into planning systems.
  • Assist in reviewing short-term financial plans and their alignment with business strategy.
  • Assist in the consolidation of group financial results.
  • Monitor and analyse financial performance, update forecasts, and support statutory reporting and year-end close activities.
  • Prepare high-quality financial reports that support decision-making at senior levels.
  • Support the development and implementation of efficient financial controls and processes.
  • Help test and improve financial methodologies and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and external regulatory requirements.

Skills & Experience

  • Professionally qualified accountant (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
  • Significant experience in financial reporting, consolidation, and budgeting within a large, complex organisation.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex financial concepts clearly and effectively to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Proficient in applying accounting principles and maintaining internal financial controls.
  • Experience in group consolidation and reporting in a public sector or media environment.
