Experienced Travel Consultant (Hybrid - London)
Minimum 3 years' experience | Salary depending on experience | Quarterly and yearly commission | Travel incentives to Japan
We are looking for an experienced Sales and Travel Consultant to join our London team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in the travel industry, excellent customer service skills, and hands‑on experience creating and managing tailor‑made itineraries. This role requires someone who has travelled to Japan at least once and is confident supporting both B2C and B2B clients.
Role Overview
- Effective management of sales enquiries / leads
- Liaise with Ops Team to handle all booking aspects, including flights ticketing, accommodation, tours, and activities (processing cancellations and amendments)
- Arrange and deliver top‑quality and complex itineraries
- Cross‑sell and upsell all services and products
- Ensure client expectations are met, providing expert advice
- Deliver high levels of service and support
What profile we are looking for
- Eligible to work in the UK
- Must have travelled to Japan at least once
- Demonstrable sales success and genuine enthusiasm for selling travel products
- Passion for sales is essential; if you do not enjoy sales, this role will not be suitable for you
- Live within reasonable commuting distance of BR3 1JN
- Looking to work full time in the office (this is NOT a fully remote job, however after training 2 days working from home will be available)
- Minimum three years of experience in the travel or tourism industry (retail, tour operator, OTA, DMC or similar)
- Proven track record in itinerary building, reservations, ticketing or FIT operations
- To support our US and Canadian markets, flexibility to work evening shift patterns (typically 12:00‑21:00) and Saturday shifts will be required
- English: Native or business proficiency
- Japanese: NOT required
- Good knowledge of Japan as a travel destination (prefectures, infrastructure, attractions)
- Awareness of Japanese culture and society
- Reliable and punctual, with the ability to maintain consistent on‑time attendance
- Attention to detail
- Excellent presentation and organisational skills
- Target‑driven, strategic attitude with the ability to work towards KPIs
- Strong problem‑solving and multitasking skills
