Job Title: Finance Team Leader - Accounts Receivable
Sector: Public Sector
Contract: 3-6 months+
Rate: 36.72 per hour umbrella
Working Pattern: Hybrid - 1-2 days per week on site, remainder working from home

The Role

We are looking for an experienced Finance Team Leader - Accounts Receivable to lead and deliver high-quality exchequer services within a large public sector organisation. You will take ownership of accounts receivable and income-related services, ensuring strong financial control, excellent performance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage and deliver all aspects of exchequer services to a high professional standard
  • Ensure timely income collection, debt management and recovery, meeting agreed KPIs
  • Oversee performance reporting to senior management
  • Ensure financial systems, processes and data are optimised, accurate and fit for purpose
  • Drive continuous improvement and modernisation of service delivery models
  • Resolve payment-related issues in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders
  • Promote financial compliance and improve financial capability across service users
  • Manage and develop staff, including performance management and engagement
About You
  • Essential: Public sector experience (local government or similar)
  • Strong knowledge of exchequer services, including accounts receivable and income control
  • Proven experience delivering financial performance in a large, complex organisation
  • Confident people manager with experience of leading and developing teams
  • Strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills
