Finance Officer – Plumpton College

Plumpton College is seeking a proactive and detail‑oriented Finance Officer to join our Finance team. This role involves administering bursary and student support funds, ensuring compliance with government regulations and college policies.

Responsibilities
  • Lead on bursary applications, providing advice and guidance to students and parents.
  • Assess financial circumstances and calculate entitlements accurately.
  • Maintain clear communication and promote bursary schemes through events and presentations.
  • Keep accurate records and reconcile bursary funds.
  • Support the Finance team with month/year‑end reporting and other finance tasks.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and departmental KPIs.
Qualifications
  • Level 2 or higher qualification in Maths and English.
  • Strong IT skills, including advanced Excel.
  • Previous experience in a busy Finance department.
  • Excellent communication skills and a calm, empathetic approach.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritise workload, and use initiative.
