Overview

Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will oversee day-to-day financial operations while delivering high-quality financial reporting, analysis, and strategic input. This role will suit a commercially minded finance professional who thrives in a dynamic, growth-focused environment and wants to make a tangible impact on business performance.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the preparation and review of monthly management accounts, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
  • Manage cash flow, payroll, and financial operations, ensuring effective controls are in place to support business needs.
  • Oversee and review balance sheet reconciliations, income statements, and variance analysis, providing clear commentary and actionable insights.
  • Partner with the Finance Director to shape financial strategy, supporting long-term planning, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Provide senior management with financial insights, performance analysis, and recommendations that drive business growth and operational efficiency.
  • Supervise and mentor the internal finance team, building capability and ensuring best practice across financial processes.
  • Review and enhance financial systems, processes, and reporting frameworks, recommending improvements to support scalability and efficiency.
  • Act as a key finance business partner, translating financial information into meaningful insights for both financial and non-financial stakeholders.
Profile

The successful candidate will likely have the following profile:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) or equivalent experience with strong management accounting and financial control.
  • Strong technical skills and proven ability to manage complex financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency with financial systems (Sage, Xero, or similar), with the ability to identify and implement process improvements.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and mentor junior team members.
  • Commercially astute, detail-driven, and able to balance operational oversight with strategic perspective.
