Responsibilities

• As Finance Manager – Flight Operations, own profit and loss and balance sheet for Fuel, Crew, and Disruption costs.
• Deliver internal and external financial reporting, provide insightful analysis to enhance understanding of the cost base, and drive cost-saving initiatives in collaboration with Operations Finance.
• Act as a key business partner across Operations, Commercial, and wider finance teams, ensuring seamless communication and robust financial control.
• Lead the Flight Operations Accounting Team (two accountants and three assistant accountants) under the supervision of the Senior Finance Manager - Accounting and Controls.

What we’re looking for

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with at least 3 years post-qualified experience
• Strong analytical skills and experience with variance analysis and financial reporting
• Ability to manage and mentor junior team members, fostering development and retention
• Excellent communication skills, able to challenge and influence stakeholders at all levels
• High attention to detail and ability to summarise complex data
• Proactive, self-starter attitude with enthusiasm for continuous improvement
• Advanced Excel skills (including basic macros); Planning Analytics experience preferred
• Aviation experience is a plus, but not essential

Practicalities

This full-time role will be based in Luton and will be 40 hours per week. We support hybrid working and we spend 60% of our time per month in the office.
