A historic naval museum in Portsmouth is looking for a qualified accountant to provide financial support and analysis for various projects. The role requires advanced Excel skills and the ability to communicate complex financial information effectively. Salary (Grade 7) - £45,767 per annum (this is the full time salary and will be prorated down should less than 37.5 hours be offered). Hours: 30 - 37.5 hours per week - permanent. Hybrid working available (minimum of 2 days per week required in the office). Location: National Museum of the Royal Navy, Portsmouth Historic Dockyard.

Reporting to the Financial Controller, and working alongside the existing two Finance Business Partners, you will become an integral member of the Finance Reporting team which is responsible for providing expert financial advice, strategic support and constructive challenge to budget holders, ensuring accurate financial reporting, effective financial planning, and supporting wider team members and budget holders in driving commercial performance and financial sustainability in the delivery of our strategic objectives.
You will act as the lead financial support for designated business areas, particularly in delivery of projects and commercial activities. This will include, in its simplest form, supporting budget holders in the development of robust business plans, setting budgets, monitoring and recording activity, preparation of month-end reports, commentaries and reporting packs and will require you to work closely with, and report directly to, budget holders and the Executive. You will represent the Finance and Resources directorate at key meetings with Trustees and external stakeholders.
