Job summary

Trane Technologies is seeking a Service Technician for field-based work, conducting on-site maintenance and service at customer locations across the Birmingham area. The role focuses on delivering high-quality service under maintenance contracts while maximizing productivity and customer satisfaction.

The position requires diagnosing equipment, performing planned maintenance, handling breakdowns, and coordinating with service desks, sales, and operations to ensure efficient service delivery.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in service or field-based technician role.
• Strong knowledge of customer service principles.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose system problems on site and during service visits.
• Attend customer sites for Planned Preventative Maintenance, breakdowns, warranty work, commissioning workloads.
• Build and maintain relationships with customers as trusted contact.
• Collaborate with service desk, sales, and operations to share key insights.
• Use diagnostic software and tools to diagnose and repair units.
• Generate reports on completed invoiced work orders.
• Communicate updates with supervisors and customers to drive improvements.
