Job summary

Trane Technologies is recruiting a Field-based Service Technician – Unitary to support the UK with on-site customer service and technical maintenance. The role involves travel across the country to service and repair rooftop and packaged units installed on site, ensuring high standards of service and uptime.

The position emphasizes customer communication, problem-solving, and collaboration with Service Desk, Sales, and Operations to drive efficiency and quality of service.

Qualifications

• Experience in service or field-based technician role.
• Strong knowledge of customer service principles.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to cover standby and call-outs on a scheduled basis.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose system problems on service projects and customer sites.
• Attend sites for Planned Preventative Maintenance, breakdowns, warranty, hire and commissioning.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers as a trusted contact.
• Collaborate with Service Desk, Sales and Operations for key insights.
• Use diagnostic software and hand-tools per blueprints or specs to diagnose and repair units.
• Generate regular reports on completed invoiced work orders.
• Communicate updates to supervisors, regional managers and customers.
