SMT GB is seeking a Field Service Engineer to support the HS2 project. You will service, diagnose, and repair Volvo construction equipment across project sites in the Midlands area, with region-wide coverage.

Applicants must have NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or related discipline and a full UK driving licence, with flexible travel expectations. You will operate in a field-based role, ensuring maximum machine uptime and outstanding customer service, while maintaining safety and regulatory

Qualifikationen

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, HGV Maintenance, or a related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction plant and equipment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, drivetrains, electrics, and diagnostic systems.

Aufgaben

• Diagnose faults and carry out servicing, maintenance, and repairs on Volvo construction equipment and related machinery.
• Identify and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine faults using diagnostic tools.
• Act as primary contact for customers, providing updates on status, repairs and recommended actions.
• Complete all job documentation, inspection reports and timesheets accurately and in real time.
• Maintain high safety, professionalism, and site procedure standards.
