Job summary

SMT Corp. is seeking an experienced Field Service Engineer to service and repair Volvo construction equipment across designated regions. You will work independently on customer sites, providing exceptional service and maximizing equipment uptime.

The role requires an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant Maintenance or related engineering discipline and proven experience with heavy construction plant equipment. A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel are essential.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, HGV Maintenance, or a related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction plant equipment.
• Advanced fault-finding and ability to work independently in the field.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out diagnostics, servicing, maintenance, and repairs on Volvo construction equipment and related machinery.
• Identify and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and engine faults using diagnostic equipment.
• Act as primary point of contact for customers, updating on status and recommended actions.
• Complete all job documentation, inspections, timesheets, and electronic records in real time.
• Maintain high safety, professionalism, housekeeping, and compliance with policies.
