Job summary

SMT GB is seeking a Field Service Engineer to service Volvo construction equipment across designated areas in the UK. This field-based role requires independent work on customer sites, delivering high-quality maintenance and repair services to maximise machine uptime.

You will hold an NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance (or equivalent) and bring experience in heavy equipment, diesel engines, hydraulics and electrics, with a full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant Maintenance, Agricultural Engineering, HGV Maintenance, or related engineering discipline.
• Proven experience maintaining and repairing heavy construction plant and equipment.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills across diesel engines, hydraulics, electrics and drivetrains.

Responsibilities

• Service, maintain, diagnose, and repair Volvo construction equipment within your region.
• Communicate with customers, update on status and recommended actions.
• Complete all job documentation, timesheets and records accurately and in real time.
• Maintain high safety, professionalism and adherence to company policies.
