Job Description

This Field Service Engineer – Gluing Systems will cover the North of England, Scotland and occasionally Ireland. It is a classic field service role reporting to the Customer Care Manager, involving repair, refurbishment, installation and commissioning of machinery.

You will be away from home an average of 2 days per week, with very occasional weekend work and overtime paid door-to-door.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out field installations, preventive maintenance, equipment health checks and repairs across the broad range of our products.
• Investigate, diagnose, and rectify any customer equipment faults in a timely manner.
• Ensure continual accuracy of data entered into the service management system.
• Identify opportunities for minor repairs and highlight these to the clients as recommendations.
• Provide technical support and operator training.
• Provide feedback to maintain good customer relations and improve product design.
• Raise complaints where necessary and capture sales opportunities.

Person Specification

• Qualified and experienced Field Service Engineer.
• Knowledge of gluing systems is of interest.
• Knowledge of the packaging industry, particularly corrugated or folded cartons, is desirable.
• Minimum of ONC level in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (time served or qualified).
• Calm under pressure.
• Excellent planning and organisational skills.
• Self‑motivated, ambitious, entrepreneurial and an excellent team player.
