Maintenance Engineer – Medical Gas Systems

Location: Field-based (hospitals, laboratories, universities)

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: Competitive (based on experience)

About the Role

Midland Medical Services Ltd is looking to recruit a Maintenance Engineer to join our medical gas maintenance team. You will be responsible for the planned and reactive maintenance of a wide range of piped medical gas plant and equipment across public and private hospitals, as well as laboratories, research facilities, and universities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Service, maintain, and repair medical gas systems and associated equipment
  • Work on a variety of plant including:
    • Air Plants (compressors – screw and piston types, desiccant dryers, receivers, controls)
    • Vacuum Plants
    • Manifolds
    • Terminal Units
    • Alarm Systems
  • Carry out four PPM visits per year for each contracted site
  • Participate in a 24 / 7 emergency call-out rota (approximately 1 week in 4–5)
  • Work flexibly, including early starts, late finishes, occasional night work, and nights away when required (overtime rates apply)
  • Complete all documentation accurately and maintain high standards of safety and compliance
  • Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers
