Overview

Working as an Electronic Monitoring Field Officer for our Electronic Monitoring Service is more than just a job, it's the chance to be part of something great, to join a team where your contributions are valued, and where you can positively impact the communities we serve every single day. On a day-to-day basis, you'll head off to visit individuals in their homes to install tagging equipment, either alone or alongside a Monitoring Support Officer. With every individual you meet, you'll have the opportunity to build their confidence in both you and the justice system, reassuring them of their safety, as well as that of the public. With every successful case, you'll be directly helping reduce the pressure on the prison system and give ex-prisoners the chance to be part of their community again. Every day and every individual are different, which is what makes this role so varied and full of opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Visit individuals in their homes to install tagging equipment, working either alone or with a Monitoring Support Officer.
  • Build confidence in you and the justice system with each interaction, reassuring individuals of their safety and the safety of the public.
  • Contribute to reducing the pressure on the prison system and support ex-prisoners to re-engage with their community.
  • Adapt to varying daily tasks and environments as part of a diverse role.
What you need to do the job / Qualifications
  • Current valid UK driver's license.
  • Reasonably fit and have good written and verbal communications skills, essential to building relationships and rapport with individuals you meet.
  • Commitment to making a difference; the rest you will learn during a 2-week initial training course and through shadowing & mentorship from other experienced colleagues.

Schedule & Working Hours

We are operational all year round, with a range of shifts including daytimes, weekends, and bank holidays. Your contractual working week is an average 37.5 hours per week on a rolling rota including weekends. Evening shifts range from 5pm to 1am. There may be occasions when you are required to start earlier or finish later, but the rota is provided approximately 10 weeks in advance to allow meaningful time off.
