Job summary

Apogee is a leading UK managed workplace services provider recruiting an IT Field Technician to support laptops, desktops, RPOS systems and related hardware. The role blends on-site visits with remote support to achieve quick, reliable first-time fixes.

You will diagnose faults, install and configure Windows and other OS, troubleshoot printers and connectivity, and maintain thorough service records while upholding data protection and excellent customer service standards.

Qualifications

Proven experience in laptop or PC hardware repair.
Strong understanding of hardware, software, and operating systems (Windows essential).
Experience using diagnostic tools and fault-finding techniques.
Confident troubleshooting skills across hardware and basic networking.
Strong communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software faults across laptops, desktops, and peripheral devices.
Installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems including Windows and other platforms.
Supporting users onsite and remotely, providing clear guidance.
Carrying out repairs, component replacements, and system upgrades.
Troubleshooting printers, connectivity issues, and RPOS hardware.
Completing accurate job records, service notes, and repair documentation.
Following data protection, backup, and security procedures.
Escalating more complex issues when required.
Maintaining high standards of customer service and communication.
Keeping up to date with hardware tools, technologies, and repair methods.
