Job summary

A leading provider of energy solutions is looking for an Assistant Biomass Maintenance Technician to join their Central Scotland Services & Maintenance Team. The successful candidate will perform various maintenance tasks on biomass heating plants, assist engineers, and maintain clean and safe energy centres. The role requires a clean driving license and offers comprehensive training, competitive benefits, and a supportive work environment. This is a full-time position based in the Central Belt of Scotland, with a company vehicle provided for site travel.

Qualifications

  • Clean driving license is essential for a field-based role.
  • Previous experience in a relevant maintenance or M&E role is beneficial.
  • Ability to work independently and manage your daily schedule.
  • Logical, practical, and hands-on approach to tasks.
  • Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out monthly visual inspections and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) tasks on biomass heating plants.
  • Assist engineers with annual maintenance tasks, including boiler servicing and fuel store cleaning.
  • Keep fuel stores and energy centres clean, tidy, and safe.
  • Record all site visits using an electronic workflow management system.
  • Travel to multiple sites daily, including ash removal from biomass boilers (training provided).
  • Maintain the Paisley office and engineer store, including stock receipt and issuing parts.
