Overview

We are seeking a warm, compassionate and proactive Senior Extra Care Support Worker to provide person-centered care and support to our services users based in Hattersley, Tameside.

Creative Support is working with a local housing provider who has recently developed a brand new scheme, which will be providing the highest standards of care to over-55 year olds in an independent living setting.

As a key member of our team, you will assist the Management Team in delivering an empowering service that meets the needs of our clients, while fostering a positive atmosphere in collaboration with service users' families and friends. Flexibility, energy, and reliability are essential qualities for this role.

Embracing all aspects of the role, from providing personal care and domestic support to helping individuals access work, education, and social opportunities you will provide valued support via the unique personal skills and interests you bring in order to enrich the lives of those we support.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and domestic support in an independent living setting for adults aged 55 and over, including individuals with dementia and memory loss.
  • Work on a roster basis including evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
  • Support service users to access work, education, and social opportunities, using person-centred approaches.
  • Collaborate with the Management Team and engage with service users’ families and friends to deliver an empowering service.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Previous experience in caring for vulnerable adults is essential.
  • Experience in services for older people, and those with dementia and memory loss, is essential.
  • Warm, person-centred, and respectful approach.
  • Willingness to participate in continuous professional development; opportunity to train and develop further.
  • Full training is provided; opportunity to work towards QCF Diploma in Health and Social Care.
  • Gender is considered to be an occupational requirement – Equality Act 2010.
